The 2017 re-organization was rolled out incredibly poorly - probably the worst I've ever seen in industry. Major procrastination lead to decisions being made very late before the self-imposed completion deadline and as a result of a lot of indecision, the outcome was a mess. Generally re-organizations lead to some unhappy folks but this one took the cake and lead to a large amount of upper management leaving and then those under following suit out of disgust. The re-organization was advertised to be rejoining the two halves of the company as equals but was far from that. Much of the current upper management is part of a group of folks who have never worked anywhere else and thus have not developed a sense of proper management conduct. The re-organization rollout was sufficient proof of that. Speaking more broadly about the company, there are a lot of stressed people very concerned about "what the boss will say". Some groups did not foster an ethic of informed decision making and empowering decision-making at low levels. Trivial decisions are made at high levels because of a tendency to micro-manage and management self-importance. There are far more politics and animosity within this company than I feel is reasonable.
