Pros
It’s a very powerful brand. Theoretically, a year or two of iHeart on your resume should open a lot of doors. Everyone recognizes the iHeartMedia name.
Cons
The work culture is entirely siloed and selfish. Collaboration is actively discouraged. We are asked to do everything, literally everything. There’s no constant inflow of leads. You get as much support as your superior can provide. Tools/assets provided by corporate do not seem like they’re designed by people with any sales experience, so we often have to redo or independently create anything they think they’ve already created to help us. There’s no standardization of decks. PowerPoints regularly exceed 20 slides. The sales floor is quieter than a library. Management seems oblivious to local market struggles. Management communicates poorly with middle management. Middle management does not seem willing to advocate for their direct reports. Instead, it prioritizes enforcing mandates from their superiors or maintaining the status quo. Byzantine rules of engagement mean that it’s impossible to land accounts worth more than pennies in a commission only job. It’s an unsustainable amount of work.
