I'll give these three, concrete things: 1) I've never just been told to do something. My assignments have all come in the form of "Would you enjoy working on X? Is that something you think you'd be good at?" 2) No egos, no unnecessary structures, and everyone in the office is happy. 3) Public company. Unlike most start-ups, the financials are open, and you can see how the stock is doing for yourself. It's a great place to work, to be honest.

I really don't have any yet. That may change at some point, of course, but for now I'm getting paid a reasonable amount, working with smart people, and my ideas are taken seriously. It's nice.

hopTo is a wonderful company full of intelligent and pleasant people. The management team includes people from Citrix and Box. Lots of perks like 27" Apple displays, MacBooks, iPads, company sponsored lunches, Xbox battles with the CEO. Sometimes I wonder if I'm really at work. They pay market rate + options and 100% of your health care premiums. All the benefits and more of a larger corporation with the upside potential of a startup. The product is innovative and revolutionary. Check it out for yourself on the App Store. Location is great, right next to Downtown Campbell in the Pruneyard. Plenty of options for lunch. Fantastic values and company culture, close-knit team that treats each other like family.
