Pros

I’m responding generally to a few of the posts received here about geoAMPS. Like everything on the internet – I urge anyone considering joining geoAMPS to do your own research – talk to current employees and management – ask the tough questions – we strive to be an open and honest environment. I have had the pleasure of being part of geoAMPS for almost four years now and believe geoAMPS is a tremendous opportunity for people with passion to be part of something bigger than just themselves. Sure, we have bumps in the road like most companies – but we believe we learn through them and create an even better opportunity for our employees and customers. I can also tell you first hand that geoAMPS invests a lot into our employees and there are many great stories about many people growing in their roles and salaries here at geoAMPS. Even though we might not have the deep pockets like large companies (500+ employee) – we have developed an environment where employees here at geoAMPS will far exceed any experience and future financial benefits they receive at large companies. Employees also learn more at geoAMPS in 3 years then people working 7 – 10 years at larger organizations. Yes, we are very busy here at geoAMPS – which is a good thing for a growing company. Long / extra hours does happen here, not always, but they do happen – but we strive to ensure our employees can balance the craziness of a growing company with their family life too. Our leadership team here continues to grow – from the inside (internal promotions). We have grown our leadership team from the start of 2 (CEO, COO) to a Leadership team that is made up of nine (9) leaders that are involved in decisions and help drive our success throughout the organization. One last thing about leadership, I have personally been involved with a number of companies, big and small throughout my career, and I have never seen such a great team of CEO and COO on the value and culture they bring to an organization. Their collective vision of geoAMPS growth and the culture we are building here for employees are foundational pillars that will allow this company to exponentially grow within the next few years.

Cons

geoAMPS like most companies has its own unique challenges, but we actually work together - employer & employee to come up with solutions.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review. Most people don't bother to leave reviews about positive experiences unincentivized, and that's what makes you the star. We are happy to have you be a part of the family. Thank you for giving us this proverbial pat on the back, you made our day! We will strive to deliver great experiences consistently and continue making GeoAMPS a great place to work at.

Pros

Small company, relatively inclusive culture. Promising if outdated technology. There is a vision, even if it isn't entirely well defined. Rapid growth, while I was there.

Cons

CEO/COO husband and wife team take "company first" to a whole new level. Employees are burned up, out, and chastised if they speak out. I was removed from team meetings after certain staff members left, because the "company" was afraid I wouldn't parrot the company line or have questions I worked for over two years as a manager there, and going above and beyond is hardly recognized. I can cite dozens of instances of work nights lasting until 3 or 4 am, including one where I was then chastised for coming in late the following morning (sleep is a luxury). Unrealistic deadlines, sales that has the green light to mislead, poor compensation, and a COO more interested in new paint and furniture than working. A CEO that has a skillset from 2008, and no interest in grasping anything new. Marketing new verticals before a single line of code is written, then making sure responsibility and blame gets shifted to the lower levels.

We are sorry to hear you feel this way. geoAMPS is a young, small company in the process of change that will benefit all members of the team. We have quickly become the premier provider of software solutions to manage land right and infrastructure assets. We configure our products to meet each client’s needs. Because we have clients in different locations, long hours and late work nights are occasionally necessary, but employees are given several days notice. As the geoAMPS team grows, the need for long hours will be reduced. Thank you very much for sharing your opinions. We appreciate the time and effort you devoted during your time at geoAMPS.
