Pros

Being the manager of your own beautiful boutique was nice. 50% off discount. Small team to focus on for growth. Intimate business with daily rally calls and knowing your ranking through the entire company. Communication with corporate was easy and effective.

Cons

Salary pay meaning no less that 42 hours a week, but typically 50 hours. Such a small business and store that you would be by yourself until 5:30s shift change, meaning no lunches and no breaks. As the store manager, you had to be there most of the time alone since the company couldn't provide payroll for anyone else. They would add a markdown or paperwork and I would have to come in on my days off before open or after close of business to complete things. I even had to come in during my PTO when the company demanded managers complete things so they didn't have to spend payroll. Such a smaller company not much room for growth. You have to have a full staff with open availability but only allowed to give them 4 hours to 12 hours a week. If they got a second job, I was told I need to replace them. Turnover was terrible. Had to travel a lot.

Pros

I loved the flexibility of my boss scheduling me according to free time with my college work.

Cons

I felt like it was a very serious job and sometime my boss would make me go up to guests and keep askign them questions right when they walk in the door.
