Marketing Coordinator - Anonymous employee dubdub Employee Review

I wrote at Dubdub for about a year writing marketing content for their blog. My team seemed really easy to get along with and very smart in the tech space. It's just a shame that Zbig belittles and patronizes employees when he doesn't feel like paying them anymore.

Working with dubdub was a very positive experience until it came time to submit what I didn't know would be my final three invoices. I was told I would be paid week-after-week and let the lack of payment continuously slide because they had always followed through in the past. They told me they had pivoted their business and I assumed they were waiting for more investor funding (not that that's an excuse, but I've worked with many startups so I understand). After nearly four months of non-payment the company still owed me more than $500 and went completely silent. I was forced to contact the Department of Consumer Affairs in New York City to file a complaint as well as have my lawyer send letters in an attempt to recover the funds. I sent Zbig one final email letting him know that my lawyer was now involved and the state was notified of his shady business practices (it is illegal in NYC to not pay contractors within 30 days). He accused me of blackmailing his company and told me I don't understand how business works. Okay Zbig. Here's your blackmail. I hope those $500+ was worth your reputation. It's completely unethical to scam your lowest paid workers -- ones who have been loyal and accommodating for a year -- knowing they don't have much to stand on.

Like the co-worker. They are friendly.

It is a disaster. They even don't pay contractor in time.
