Hi.
Firstly thank you for your review.
I'm gutted that you appear to have had a bad experience working with us. Your review doesn't seem in any way offensive, so I believe you genuinely feel this way.
It's a pretty challenging environment here, and we often say (which, if you were interviewed by me, you'll remember) that people tend to stay for a few weeks or forever, and I go to great lengths to labour that we work long hours and it is not an easy environment, so candidates can make the decision whether they want to join us or not. It really isn't for everyone.
But it's impossible to overstate how much I care that our people are respected and cared for. I realise you may not want to provide any more information, but anything you can tell me to help me narrow down what area of training you felt was lacking would be extremely helpful.
I'm also concerned that you believe it to be a cliquey environment, as I honestly believe our people are among the finest and most beautiful-spirited human beings you'll find anywhere in the world, and are usually extremely welcoming of new starters.
I agree though, our induction process is rubbish, and we're working on it, so I totally take your point on that.
In terms of unrealistic time commitments, well we do work long hours. This is true. But I don't ask anyone to. I am just lucky enough to have a team of exceptionally dedicated and brilliant people who want to get something extraordinary done. This kind of thing doesn't generally get done between 9 and 5.
We have very little sickness, and sometimes I have to forcefully demand that everyone goes home. People often dial in and help out on the odd occasion that they are sick and I'll often discover people have come in over the weekend to work when there really wasn't any pressing need to - "if you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life".
Nevertheless, it's a priority currently to find ways to reduce the number of hours our team are spending at the office, as I think this will be better for everyone in the long run.
Again, thank you for your review because, although it was negative, I don't think you're being snotty or unkind. I just think you didn't like it here, and you've made very reasonable suggestions, considering your disappointments. As I say, it isn't for everyone, and I'm sorry it wasn't for you.
Thank you from all of us for the efforts you put in and the work you did while you were here, and I wish you all the best for the future.
Simon
