- Hybrid model
- Benefits decent, PTO decent
- HR that actually cares about you as an employee
Cons
Warning: This is specifically for the Chicago office and my experience in the Marketing/ Proposals department, which has an extremely high turnover rate:
- Unclear expectations: Rules and performance criteria for this department change on a whim
- Unfairness: Preferential treatment for some while others are ignored. One employee given fully remote work to accommodate her circumstances, while the rest of the office and their circumstances were denied.
- Marketing department not given any trust or autonomy to do their job.
- Execution of proposals is often needlessly convoluted due to the acting VP's disorganization, disinterest, distrust, and unwillingness to allow feedback.
- VP babysits every single department and micromanages to the point of neglecting things he needs to do.
- Complaints are ignored.
- Family owned, so there's no upwards mobility.
- Ridiculously strict policy regarding in-office days and hybrid schedules despite all meetings being online, and 99% of the work being on the computer.
