Pros
- Exposure to lots of technologies - Feel that you are in charge of your development and your project, if you get a true R&D project - Small agile teams - Nice colleagues and good overall environment - It looks and feels more like a startup, but with stability of a corporate job.
Cons
- Not so cool if you get stuck in maintenance/legacy projects - Because of the small overall development team, any urgent sizable project/ feature/client request will usually wreak havoc both in planning of current work, and inject overtime (usually because there is one and only one owner for each area) - Startup feeling (and work volume), but usually no equity as well.
