Pros
Above average pay very good benefits including pension plan and 7% matching on your 401k Positive work environment Good opportunities for development Global company with travel opportunities Stock plans for senior level managers
Cons
Management wants people with 20+ years of experience, so opportunities for younger people are limited Heavy workload with little resources Poor work life balance Very political Difficult to move across functions, once you start in a function that is where you will develop your career. People are promoted on experience, not performance. BP believes that you should move one level down to come work for BP because their people are so talented. The truth is that their people are the same as any other company, but they are likely to sell you into a lower position when you join the company.
