The founders are definitely intelligent people. Unfortunately raw intelligence doesn’t mean they also have business sense and leadership skills. Very often, when they are confronted with disagreements from employees, their only solution is to fire those employees instead of reasoning with them. I have seen perfectly capable, hard working people get fired just because they asked challenging yet well meaning questions. It seems their goal of starting this company is to serve their own ego. Almost all of the founding team who were here at the beginning couldn’t take it anymore and left, including CTO’s own best friend. Most of the department heads have turned over multiple times.
