Pros
I've made some amazing friends at ym. Also so many talented people have worked here over the years and I have learned ALOT. That is easily the best thing about ym. You are thrown into the fire and tested but what you'll take out of this job is a hard work ethic, you'll get used to working with tight deadlines (a daily practice at ym) So your busy. Alot. (Which is a pro imo)
Cons
If you are somebody who thrives off of productive critism this isn't the place for you. Everything's pretend. We pretend to be a team, we pretend to love our jobs. But internal competition is high and sometimes toxic. I also fully believe that I have been taken advantage of and do not get even half of the salary I'm worth. But that's my fault right? I can just leave? But ym likes to put you down just to pick you back up(hence the stockholme reference) i always get this sick feeling when i think about leaving. Is that mormal? Lol We like to complain about ym to other ym employees its almost like a prerequisite. The first couple of days employed at ym you'll get the whollllllle speil about the long list of cons and tips to navigate the BS. Turnover is high. Always has been ,probably always will be. Which is a huge con in itself. I've had so many bosses over my long employment at ym and can easily say only ONE of them was qualified for the position. Maybe a Lil pay bump for us all will help eliminate the problem? Just a thought. :) Anyways, rant done.
