The company initially had a culture of camaraderie and personal development, until they decided to change it to one of competition between teams. Furthermore, the Engineering department was subjugated by the Product department, where engineering was blamed for errors and product received the praise. This can be clearly seen in the fact that very few people from the engineering team have been able to advance within the organization. If you're not from the product department, it's very difficult to advance, and you'll remain in the shadows for quite some time. The organization's leaders change constantly, and this creates considerable uncertainty and constant changes in objectives, which impact the teams, which are constantly undergoing restructuring. If you are not from the product area (PMs), you have no growth possibilities.
