Pros

Income potential with commission is substantial if you're lucky enough to have good accounts. A lot of cold calling involved and luck plays a big role in success.

Cons

The amount of sales reps to accounts that book can dilute the success of some individuals, however a lot of that has to do with the personal drive of those that have been employed long term. The commission system is awful until you become established. The time frame of which fully depends on your drive as an individual and luck. Commission % is based on a combination of profit and number of sales which is strange...it would make more sense for the commission % to be based solely on profit as the number of sales doesn't seem to add any value to the profit of the company...

The transportation industry is constantly changing, so employees need to be adaptable and able to handle shifting priorities. Workloads can be demanding at times, but the teamwork and customer relationships make it rewarding
