Pros
Nice office view. Competitive and interesting products. Occasional free lunches. Office location was great.
Cons
I was refused to get paid for for the first several months, and I was never provided me with an employment contract. When I asked my managers to get paid for work I was literally told, “It doesn’t make business sense to pay you.” When I was eventually paid, the paycheck did not include time I worked in the prior months, lacked payroll statement that includes withholding of FICA taxes, and was one of the managers' personal check. Eventually, I had to file a wage claim with the labor department to claim my unpaid wages. During this process, the company lied that they never hired me and that I never worked for them. I had records to prove that I worked for the company and was able to win the wage claim settlement. Also, during the company company training I was shocked to learn that Asians were exempt from taking a test that was required for certain job positions in the office, due to "cultural" reasons. I hate to say this, but this really sounded like a racial discrimination. Other than that, this was the first company ever to reprimand me for being too American, asking questions and taking notes. It had very hierarchical Korean-style corporate culture.
