World Vision International Response
7yThank you for taking time to leave a review on your experience working with World Vision for 3+ years. At World Vision, our people are our greatest asset, because of this and wanting you to know that your comments and suggestions are heard, I thought it worthwhile to respond to you directly.
World Vision strives to support all employees through their career development and fulfillment as they work with us helping provide sustainable solutions to the world's most vulnerable children. Whether working from an office, from home, or with children- we greatly value all employee contributions and dedication.
Moreover, as an organisational philosophy, World Vision seeks to build the capacity of those who work for us in the countries where we are providing assistance. We are very proud that more than 99% of our staff now works in their home countries - this provides a sustainable partnership around the world with trained professionals who have a unique understanding of the communities they are serving and investing into - their own!
Regardless of location, every World Vision staff member is given career and development opportunities through our "Total Rewards" philosophy. And currently 81% of our global staff say "they have opportunities to learn new skills that help me succeed" - taken from our 2017 annual employee survey. Although we're proud of this rating, we know that there's room for improvement and we are always honing and refining our internal talent development initiatives.
I am very sorry to read that you feel that you did not have the ability to succeed at World Vision, your reputed experience is one that we do not wish for any employee to have. But please note, that contrary to what you mentioned, we do have required career path tools in place, quarterly and annual goal check-in's, and all managers are encouraged to work with their employees to help advance their learning, development, and career goals with World Vision.
We wish you the very best in your future endeavors, thank you again for dedicating over three years of your career working with World Vision and helping every child experience life in its fullness.
God bless!
Bessie Vaneris, Chief People Officer, World Vision International
