WFM'S ECOSOC status at the UN provided staff and interns with unique access and its civil society coalitions (CICC & ICRtoP) provided great networking opportunities; the small size of the organization allowed employees to take on responsibilities above their title and pay grade, which provided ample learning opportunities but also contributed to frequent burnout among staff; international travel was an additional perk for some staff members.
Cons
The lack of structure, unclear reporting lines, limited (no) opportunities for advancement, and internal discord between the organization's governing bodies and senior management created a uniquely toxic working environment during my time at the organization.
