Pros

- People that you work day to day with are genuinely nice. There's diversity here at the company but can be hard to tell when we're all working remote. Although there is lack of diversity represented at VP level and above. - Family friendly company which is a huge perk if you're looking for some work/life balance. People sign off when they need to pick up their kids and or away on holiday, and people respect those boundaries. But if you're on a high-visibility initiative, expect long hours and work around what you need to get the job done. - It's good to actually get recognition for your work. People here are mindful about this and use their own product to show their gratitude. - There's room for internal mobility and internal promotions at early career to middle management levels which is a good sign that management care about your career growth.

Cons

- Leadership has good intentions but tend to follow the $$$ which consistently derails the product roadmap. This puts strains on the teams to build custom solutions (yet expected to be scalable) and sometimes tight deadlines (stressful and burnouts). - Lots of growing pains. Company wants to act like a start-up but aversion to cross-functional processes and many things happening all at once means teams working in silos. I recommend building up your 1:1 relationships to get information more informally. - Product management function is a bit immature around prioritization and using data to inform decisions. It's a bit heavy on the top-down and sales-driven approach. The good news is leaders are aware and working to shift the culture to be more product and data-led. - I've noticed a number of people across different orgs who have joined and left Workhuman within their first 2 years. Hard to tell if that's due to joining remotely during the pandemic, or if indicators of something else.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for recognizing the strong relationships, flexibility, and benefits that many employees value at Workhuman. We recognize that customer-facing roles can be fast-paced and that experiences can vary across teams. As our business continues to mature, we're investing in stronger planning, clearer prioritization, and more effective ways of working across the organization. We'd also note that while recognition awards are an important part of our Total Rewards philosophy and are reflected in employees' Total Rewards statements, they are separate from base salary and bonus compensation. Recognition is first and foremost about celebrating meaningful contributions and impact, while also providing employees with tangible rewards for the great work they do. We know there is always more to do, and we remain committed to listening, learning, and improving the employee experience as we continue to grow. Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective.
