Pros
Strong pay. Definitely on the higher end for the market. Literally the only reason I am giving it 2 stars. Also a lot of the newer people they are hiring know what they are doing and have strong backgrounds. Opportunity for advancement because people keep quitting
Cons
I will probably run out of character count for this #1 problem at this company is leadership. Misalignment starts at the top. They truly do not have a vision for the company - everything is scattered and depends on who you ask. The majority of senior leaders were just promoted into their roles from when the company started and do not have experience leading people and/or the job they are in. NOR have they invested in leadership training for them. Micromanagement is rampant. They are hiring strong people and then micromanaging the talent right out of them. Tell me why a CMO is editing follow up event emails? Ah I will tell you. Because before funding they had chosen to run the company like an off shore company with the majority of employees being based in India - less expensive. HOWEVER when your customers are American companies, there is a distinct cultural/language barrier. They still have not overcome this and struggle with messaging, with product positioning, and with any sort of marketing endeavors in general. The company was started by people with enterprise experience - so things move slowly but yet it is a startup - so it's hurry hurry, fire drill hurry, and then 10 layers of red tape to accomplish anything (i.e. 3 people to edit one email). Also, if you like work life balance, be very careful - the senior leaders work around the clock (think Slacks at midnight) because they are running a global company and have no concept of "working hours". I literally had to remove slack from my phone bc it was stressing me out so much. There is a lot of toxicity. MANY people do not enjoy working there but feel stuck due to the market conditions - a solid paycheck = the golden handcuffs. But it is hard to be positive when people are miserable, customers wont even reply to you (if WorkSpan even has the right contact anymore), and the leaders are at odds. Lastly the company cannot execute to save their lives. Product, marketing, sales, even HR has no idea what they are doing . They piece everything together to save a buck instead of investing in solid solutions.
