Pros
During the 2012 election, I was a Director with Work For Progress in several Colorado cities and congressional districts. I had a great experience working with a diverse group of people who were all motivated to make a difference in terms of progressive issues in our country. I made hundreds of new friends and had one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. 1. Great experience working on issues I care about 2. Excellent opportunities to take on leadership and responsibility early in my career 3. Work with a motivated staff who work hard to make an impact on some of the nation's most progressive issues 4. Develop strong communication, leadership and grassroots organizing skills that I have carried with me to Work For Progress partner organizations and life, in general
Cons
1. Pushed to work harder than I have at any other job. But to honest, I was working on an exciting election and came out of the experience gaining more than I expected
