Pros
Only pro working here was the weekly pay check you would receive every Friday on time.
Cons
Inconsistency, manager would put me on call then cancel it whilst on the way to the place of work or sometimes wouldn’t even tell me, until 10 minutes before arriving there meaning I’d lose money on the travel, on top of that sending to long distances isn’t worth the pay of £9.50 per hour. Some nurseries were horrible to work with, can’t blame this on the company however when I expressed my concerns they couldn’t have cared less.
Expects you to be on call on shifts, so you would have to cancel all plans to only be given a shift of 4hrs or on some days none, so you would’ve wasted a whole day waiting for a shift.
No paid breaks, expecting only one 30 minute break in the span of 10 hours of working is unfair considering the workers at the nurseries get an a hour and they then expect you to only have 30 minutes.
Communication was lacklustre, they would see the messages but would reply 3 days later, horrible wording in cancelling shifts. One time they meant Wednesday but actually cancelled Friday, this caused clear confusion and then I was put at fault for not understanding the text correctly.
Don’t bother working for a nursery agency unless you actually have a passion for working with children, nursery staff are miserable and treat agency staff like nothing and to the nursery you are just a number to fit in their ratio.
