Pros

I liked my colleagues. They were, for the most part, decent, professional and enthusiastic people.

Cons

Pay was over a month late on more than one occasion. I was laid off and rehired multiple times over the course of my time there, which was, to somewhat understate things, stressful. Communication was problematic throughout my tenure. For anyone thinking of applying here, the people who you will work with day-to-day are professional, decent folk. Administrators and management less so. While much of that may be typical for corporate-land, one should also consider that other much better established, funded and managed Fintech outfits such as Revolut, Cash App and N26 are beginning to implement very similar functionalities, and once they have done so it is difficult to imagine how Wirex might compete given the relative market shares. Frankly, my guess is that they continue to operate because programmers in the country they outsource to are well compensated relative to cost of living, and most of the experienced people in the UK probably have equity and hope it gets bought before it goes under. If you just need any work, by all means work at Wirex. If you have options, run.

Pros

Lots of flexibility and freedom to work on different projects and processes. The company is small but growing fast so there will be loads of opportunity for professional growth and development.

Cons

None yet. Everyone has been really great to work with. Even members from other teams try to be helpful when you have questions, and you can go to anyone without feeling like you’re crossing a hierarchy.
