Pros

Good infra, and a fully stocked canteen

Cons

People, please do not join Wipro ever. Please read my experience below. I joined Wipro in April '17 as a SSE. I was skeptical about joining an Indian MNC at the time as they were just starting to massive layoffs due to US presidential election outcomes and the fear of massive economical actions. - My first hardship was the location. I stay in KR puram of Bangalore and the office is in Electronic city, which was literally 30 kms distance between my location and office. Add the daily massive traffic in KR Puram, Marathalli and Silk board, you will literally lose all your hairs within a month. - I was told in my HR interview that they provide transport services, However, i got to know they lied only after i joined. There is no shuttle or cab services for regular timings. You have to come by either your own vehicle/cab/BMTC. Now imagine, changing 3 buses in morning and 3 in evening just to commute to and fro. It made me so tired, i bloody started becoming un-healthy and lose weight within a week. - You are required to work 10 hours at office out of which 9 hours should be inside bay. They track even the time spent inside a bay and the time you spend outside. So even your toilet breaks cost you a lot! - I was provided a laptop for my convenience. but whats the use of it when they dont even allow WFH option. If an employee is staying far, he should be allowed to work from home when a laptop is provided. If they cant agree for that too, then why provide laptop in the name of convenience? - The project i was working on was not that great. They didnt even give me much work as per my interests. Kept asking them to give me work, however they told me to support AM, and SSE with bugs of tasks i have never worked on. No KT was provided for the same earlier. - So i finally left and resigned and sent an official resignation request on 4th May. As per Wipro policies, I have to serve 1 month NP. But i had requested for an earlier date as my LWD. Now the almighty superiors and HR reduced my NP to just a week without my consent. Again the resignation request was approved only 2 days prior to my LWD! - Their F & F is a nightmare. Without you consent they reduce your NP , and then ask you to pay up the NP recovery amount. It should be the duty of HR and PM to inform me of the consequences of the reduced NP. However they didnt even conduct my exit interview, nor did they inform that NP recovery amount would be owed from you. Had i knew of the same, i would not have consented to an earlier NP. - The managers there act like the they are the Gods of IT. They are un-professional, very bossy, rude, sometimes make decisions for you without your consent, no compassionate, doesnt give a sugar about your issues. - The pay is just a joke. Way below market price. - Yearly hikes falls at like 5 % an average.

Pros

Good place for freshers and early‑career professionals to learn technologies, processes, and client interaction, with “huge opportunities for learning new things.”

Cons

Onboarding for freshers can be slow and confusing, with delays before real project allocation

Pros

There are no pros to working for Wipro.

Cons

This company is a sh** show. There are too many managers and less and less people to do the actual work. They have people that negotiate contracts and then expect the company to make money. In reality, most of the time the contract is basically giving the house away. It is the employees that suffer. When the contracts go south, they cut more people. Those people are then screwed over. Be warned!! If your position ends on the 25th of the month, your health insurance also ends on the 25th of the month. Note that the premium you paid, is not pro-rated, justifying the end of coverage on the 25th. You still pay the usual premium, which should then have your coverage run through the end of the month. If they can destroy a person, they will. They want more and more and more from their employees. While they preach all this mental health, work life balance, it's a sham. They have no regard for the well being of the employee, which carries over to the employee's family.
