I absolutely hate working there! Every associate hates it! We work too dam hard to get paid as much as we do. I have been there for almost 2 years and there has not been a time were i was completely happy. First of all, opening shifts are stressful. Managers DO NOT clean. Associates do all the cleaning. And if you don't clean right, they make you do it again! That really annoys me bcuz managers swear they will do a better job with the small amount of time given. For example we get an hour dust the whole store, dust mop or sweep, mop, change light bulbs regularly (since the store has like a million light bulbs that always burn out), windex mirrors and anything other glass that needs cleaning. On top of all that u need to make sure theres enough time to go to the bank if the registers need change before the store opens and sometimes the bank is busy at opening! You also have to go thru a shoe check list and make sure all shoes are out if not you have to bring them all out. Another thing is that its managers responsibility to pocket check every item in the store at opening and before they clock out. I can honestly say most of the time they make associates do there job! I dont mind wen they ask for help pocket checking but wen they expect you to do everything for them, thats asking for way too much. Policies at windsor are always changing and write ups are given for any little thing! But whats more annoying is that its usually associates getting written up by the managers but no one is there to issue write ups to managers! I hate that i have got written up for being jst a couple minutes late to a shift after i had an emergency and tried calling the store to inform them but the managers failed to inform the associates about the temporary number change. And i have been had many encounters when managers have been up to 30minutes late due to non urgent reasons and they never got written up for that! Windsor has company contest here and there usually about having high increases over a holiday weekends, etc. Managers get all these "prizes" like windsor gifts cards and bonuses and associates get nothing! Honestly the only reason i never left that job was bcuz i worked at big windsor store so we had high payroll and my hours were good! I was working 27-29 hours a week guaranteed! Never a time were i didnt appreciate my check. Our store recently had a dramatic change and we relocated to a smaller store. Our payroll has been cut tremendously now that we have a smaller store and we now have half the associates we use to have and every adsocaite and now All associates hate the new store and the customers, which are number one, hate the store as well! Our new store is so small that u can not walk past a rack without getting touch by clothes,you have to squeeze thru all the tights spaces and it fustrates customers. We no longer have space for sale racks and that was really what brought customers in as well as our huge selection of dresses and separates. Now our customers that wud travel from far places dont feel the need to come to our store bcuz its like going to any other small windsor store.
