Pros

The outrageous turnover rate means job security. It's a for sure bet that you'll be able to get a job. For instance, you can get a second degree sexual harassment charge and still be promoted at this place (Google wheat ridge regional center reviews)

Cons

So much corruption. They claim that there's a lot of room to move up. If you are sleeping with the right people or you're the son or daughter of someone working there. This nepotism leads to unqualified people in positions that they can not properly manage. Instead of getting professionals that know how to problem solve they have people that are throwing anything at the wall and hoping it will stick. I've seen people with degrees related to the mental health field be passed up for promotions because management only want people that'll cover their butts and won't be a threat to them. There's a lot of waste and this attitude that it doesn't matter because it's only the tax payers' money. They pay a grand a month to rent washers and dryers for every group home. (15k/month) They joke around at orientation that "we hate trees here" as they hand you thick stacks of paper. We should have a social responsibility to our tax payers. The moral is low. The management only knows how to use fear and intimidation as a motivator. Someone else mentioned the gang mentality if they don't like you... 100% You'll be guilt tripped if you call in sick or don't want/can't stay for another 8 hour shift on top of the one you just worked. This place is not affective. Yields very little results for the IDD community. They've covered up sexual and physical abuse on this disabled community. It makes you as an employee afraid to actually be a voice for the voiceless.

Pros

Will make you feel like you're making a difference, some people really care, lots of over time , pretty much unlimited overtime cause lots of people quit or call off. The residents are great, lots of room for advancement or growth

Cons

Pay is horrible compared to the work they want you to do. Sometimes mandatory overtime, If you report someone for abuse everyone turns against you. They'll most likely come back. You get attacked by residents. Management is horrible. You really have to be a favorite to get promoted. Lots of people married or related to others at the job & they definitely hire within. scared of retaliation after reported someone for abuse, i had to just get away. they need more people who care cause the majority of people who work there don't.
