Pros

The only positive aspects I can highlight about this company are its informative and helpful HR & TA department and enjoyable team-building events (although don't make the mistake, as I did, of thinking that participating in these events automatically makes you part of the company)

Cons

I spent three months at this company, believing I'd gain valuable insights from the Senior Manager and that I could adapt to a role far removed from my background. I thought I was building strong relationships with my colleagues, juggling four different lines of work, and assuming my team appreciated those efforts. It was naive of me to foster these illusions in a workplace that regards itself as a close-knit family and boasts an allegedly effective feedback system, which turned out to be sweet nothing:) Though in the end, I learned some necessary lessons. Never blindly trust your colleagues and get comfy with them, even if they praised your performance. Question your inexperienced manager; this isn't to discredit their skills, they in fact can be very well-versed at their job but it doesn't necessarily qualify them to lead junior employees. And lastly, be assertive enough to say NO when you've got trained for something entirely different for weeks but then handed tasks you've never encountered once in on-boarding. However, the responsibility for this last point doesn't solely lie with me, the Senior Manager who has years of experience, should understand that a junior with no background in the field may struggle, at the very least, should receive proper guidance, TIME and DIRECT feedback over time. In short, they wasted my time and I may have wasted theirs. However, they’re a well-resourced company, while I was an individual with a job and valuable contacts before I accepted their offer, thinking that it would be a step up for me both financially and professionally. Stay safe out there!

Pros

The first thing you notice at Whatwapp is the positive and friendly vibe. People are approachable, supportive, and genuinely fun to work with. There's a strong sense of collaboration and openness. Ideas and feedback are always welcome, no matter your role. It's also a place where good work gets recognized. If you take initiative and deliver, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to grow. There’s no need to play politics. What matters is the impact you make. Another big plus is the healthy work-life balance. The company trusts people to manage their time well, and there’s a shared understanding that burnout helps no one. It’s a sustainable pace that still leaves room to push when it matters.

Cons

The company is growing and evolving quickly, which means things can change often (priorities, processes, even roles). It keeps things exciting, but it also means you need to be comfortable with change and ready to adapt.

Pros

Good people (trapped in a bad company)

Cons

- No career growth opportunities - they will keep your compensation at a bare minimum level impossible to survive on in Milan, gaslighting you to believing it's your own fault. - The CEOs are committing multiple obvious mistakes in their decisions and never take the responsibility for their errors (but blaming the workers for every small misstep) - Almost all of the positive 4 and 5 star Glassdoor reviews are written by the marketing team

No one is trapped in a company, we will support anyone who wants to leave with CV and application advice. - No career growth opportunities - they will keep your compensation at a bare minimum level impossible to survive on in Milan, gaslighting you to believing it’s your own fault. 69.5% of employees who have been with the company for 2 or more years have been promoted, and several employees have shifted their professional focus, people grow upwards and have the chance to change direction. We also have low turnover, currently 12.5%, which is almost half the industry norm. Whatwapp pay-levels are closely aligned with Milan levels, Glassdoor has plenty of data showing what other companies at similar career levels pay. We also share company revenues and costs openly in every monthly meeting so everyone in the company is aware of the margins the business works to. - The CEOs are committing multiple obvious mistakes in their decisions and never take the responsibility for their errors (but blaming the workers for every small misstep) We’re one of the small number of mobile games companies growing in an extremely tough market, when most are having large lay-offs.
