North clinic is a joke - Registered Behavior Therapist WellCare Employee Review

Pros

We have the best clients ever! I love them.

Cons

There is ultimately favoritism here at the North Clinic, which is run by Nicole. You aren't valued for your time in the field. Snitches are rewarded and hard workers are told on if they excel and do "too well" with the clients. Staff are given seven minute breaks and BCBAs are also given the same amount, but its fine if they come back late or are off the floor for quite awhile. Nicole is an awful leader, passive aggressive and will gaslight you. You will be told the clients are not aggressive but after one injures you, you will be told you didn't do the right thing even though RBTs should be aware of all maladaptive behaviors a client exhibits so they can prepare themselves. This clinic loves to use fluffy ABA, BCBAs love to manipulate all sorts of variables (including being very manipulative individuals themselves) except for anything that actually helps a learner in their lives. They will run around looking like a fool to control challenging behavior instead of coming up with a comprehensive team plan or admitting they can't handle a client's behavior. This place is just like all the rest. Look at Keystone, WellCare is following in their footsteps.

Pros

I love working at WellCare and could write a long list of the amazing things, but here are a few of my favorites: WellCare's philosophy of care is trauma assumed, assent based, and client centered so client progress is promoted in a gentle, compassionate, and ethical way. Caseloads are very small for the industry, so I'm able to truly get to know each of my clients and provide individualized care. Clinic hours are consistent and the workday ends relatively early, which promotes good work/life balance. In addition to paid holidays and sick pay, we get PTO on a tiered system so longevity with the company is rewarded with additional time off. Leadership is always open to ideas and feedback, and I consistently feel that my voice is heard and valued.

Cons

I really don't have any cons to share. Any concerns that have come up for me have been responded to by leadership in a way that satisfies me!

Pros

-administration is open to constructive feedback -good work culture -supportive administration (provides materials asked for, supports during difficult conversations with parents, weekly meetings) -small company feel -competitive pay -working at a place that is actually neuro-diverse affirming and doesn't just say they are (true for employees and patients alike)

Cons

-company just switched EMR documentation and the paperwork process is slightly confusing but not counted against you in the learning process
