They talk a lot about wanting to hire people with experience from big companies, so they can come in and improve systems and processes and help CTE act like a big company. The reality is that's not what they really want. There are 2-3 people in the company that every decision flows through, and you must have their buy-in. There are a lot of unimpressive people in both managerial and unskilled roles, that are completely resistant to change and progress and who will immediately give you 10 reasons why something won't work and isn't a good idea. CTE ends up running off a lot of the good talent they hire from those big companies because people get frustrated not being able to do what they thought they were hired to do...There's also some real dead weight in the company that's being protected by long tenured managers just because they are liked by someone. If you have ever worked for a family owned business, it is a very different environment than say a Fortune 500 company.
