Pros

fun to deal with Athletics, sports teams, and the office environment is very relaxed. Most every school knows the products because most schools use these types of products.

Cons

Owner is far too egotistical and small-minded to allow growth and success. Beware any promises made regarding commissions, territories etc. For true sales types, this place seems to be everything wrong with sales. Don't believe the promises, they are all pie in the sky if not outright falsehoods. One of the very FIRST things I asked when I was interviewing was whether or not the salespersons had to compete with each other (protected territories) and whether or not the company had other distributors that were able to sell in our territories. He swore up and down, and promised that there were NO distributors and that your territory was yours and yours alone. Within one month of starting work I found out that this was an outright lie on both parts. This is basically a once-successful company that has been slowly run into the ground by the owners unyielding ego. The owner seems to blame ALL problems on sales department, and constantly says that sales types are below par. The owner seems to barely tolerate sales dept and treats them with contempt. Micromanagement in the extreme here! Meetings, meetings, meetings. Far too many of them. We once we all called into the conference room for a MANDATORY meeting. . . it took maybe 30 minutes for everyone to assemble, and the owner walks in, tells everyone that the reason for the meeting was to let everyone know that there would be a meeting at 4 pm that afternoon (3 hours later) and that it was mandatory. So, a meeting to announce a meeting! (Be ready for this kind of ridiculous BS if you want to work here)
