Pros

The only two pros are that you learn resilience and wide range of skills. From dealing with an emotionally abusive CEO to unsafe work conditions you definitely become a stronger employee. You will probably be doing multiple roles in your position so you will have a lot of skills gained.

Cons

The workplace is disgusting. The owner has cats that roam around the place with FLEAS. People leave with bites on their ankles everyday. Start your morning off with coffee from a BPA-filled machine. You sure will need it to deal with the workday. Your day will consist of the CEO belittling you, the HR department gossiping about everyone in the office instead of being a professional resource to employees, responsibilities being piled onto you because the owner refuses to hire more people, etc. Everyone that works there hates it. They are only staying because of the money. Don’t expect to be moved up into a higher position unless you’ve been there for 9+ years. There are no incentives. The company culture is sitting at your desk for 8-9 hours wishing you’d be somewhere else. It’s your boss yelling at you in front of everyone to embarrass you instead of giving constructive criticism. There is NO security so virtually anyone can come in and harm others if they wanted. There is a kitchen area but who really wants to eat anything where there’s fleas and rodent feces? I feel bad for the baby and wife that live there. You didn’t read wrong! The owner LIVES there with his family. Ask why you can’t go up on the second floor. Say hi to his family members that sleep in the tents up there. This place is a hazard and needs to be shut down. I have never worked somewhere so disgusting and unprofessional in my life. They literally sell products covered in mold to customers. We are instructed to just clean them off and send them as is. Don’t bother working here or even buying their products as a consumer. It’s not even worth including on your resume. Do yourself a favor and not work here.

Pros

IT Director was an amazing guy and I learned a lot from him. Took this experience and parlayed it into a job making 10x as much.

Cons

The owner is beyond shady and is a slob. They will pay you next to nothing and expect you to develop their entire infrastructure and work 7 days a week. Owner will fire you before 6 months just to not pay unemployment (this was known by everyone). Not cool for kids just getting on their own. He will fire you at the beginning of a lunch which he drove you to so you cannot leave and will see how much you will need his company. Absolutely disgusting loser.

We are sorry for your frustration with your experience while employed at Web Direct Brands, Inc. We pay our employees open, transparent and a competitive rate and comply with federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Florida law rules for minimum wage, overtime, and other wage and hour protections. After completion of a 90 day probationary period, an employee who is let go other than for misconduct, or who resigns with good cause attributable to the employer, is entitled to receive unemployment benefits. Lunch meetings with the president are a weekly part of the upper management improvement process. This particular meeting was to discuss a 6 week exit strategy due to differences in the direction of the company. Letting go of an employee is never an easy decision, it is something that is never taken lightly and should be done privately, for we always strive to end on good terms. We hope that you are successful in your future endeavors.
