Pros

The videos are cool and it's a great opportunity to write scripts for those videos.

Cons

--Essentially, their whole structure is based around other people's ideas. They have tens of thousands providing them ideas, but they don't get paid. --Script writing gets paid $30-$40 per script. You have to do everything: Compile a matrix of 20-30 ideas for the top 10 list, which means ALL the research ... then writing the script, which takes more research an then crafting the script. --The script process is is amazingly RIGID. After writing the script, they'll send you a list of criticisms with many based on their unnecessarily rigid structure. --And then, they do sloppy work. Several times, I would recommend a Top 10, they would totally ignore what I wrote, make their own list, and then decide later that that the thing I pointed out came to pass ... so I would have to do MORE work. --For such an anal retentive structure for script writers, there final product is full of typos and incorrect facts.

Thanks for the review. I hesitated to reply sooner but I think it's important to address it. Our clients are fans of movies, TV shows, video games, actors, musicians etc. They are passionate about those subjects. We are here to serve our audience and community. It's thus important that we balance a desire to cover a topic with the ability to cover it well. As such, we purposely do not want freelancers to take on projects that they're not well-versed in. In other words, if you are knowledgeable about a topic, then you should (figuratively speaking) almost want to cover it as a passion project and mainly, in a time span that yields a more than reasonable wage. And, if I may say so, considering how many freelancers we employ, how many of them have remained with us, and how many of those rely on us as their sole/main source of income, I think our system is fair to all: writers, viewers, and the company - in that order. The mere fact that we pay Net 0 is above and beyond industry standard. Ultimately, we favor "missionaries over mercenaries." If you are looking at writing solely because of the money, then the scripts won't meet our standards of quality and our viewers will see through it. I am sorry this may not have been for you, but we have one of the most loyal and well treated team of freelancers that I personally view as part of our family... I wish you luck in freelance opportunities elsewhere.

Thanks, good/fair feedback. We tend to treat that more on a case-by-case basis to ensure those who "deserve/have earned" (for lack of better term) can get bumps sooner. But too often, we have writers/researchers with whom we stay committed to & patient and many other publishers would cut off... so it's a balancing act. But, noted. Thx. AK.
