Pros

Working in the Walmart Distribution center offers a great starting pay (varies upon location). The job doesn't require you to have anything other than a high school diploma or GED. Once you have some time in, you are free to put in for different area/shift jobs. They give you the opportunity to become a licensed forklift driver in most jobs. They also offer 401k, benefits and disability packages.

Cons

It's a warehouse so it gets dirty/dusty. Sometimes employees can feel a bit like a number. Management styles vary from department to department. Also, production goals can be a pain when there are outside influences preventing you from obtaining them (ie. Waiting for others to complete their work). Although you can work a weekend shift, going to school full-time can be very difficult once passed the associates degree (unless done online). They DO NOT like to work with your school schedule if a class falls on your normal work day.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
