Pros
1) Reasonably competitive salary and benefits. 2) Talented co-workers. 3) Flexible UNIX based development environment (however dated). 4) Slot machines are surprisingly exciting to work on.
Cons
1) Magement team lack knowledge of software development. 2) Strange implementation of agile development methodology. 3) Ludicrous schedules. Dates for large projects plucked out of the sky (worsened by the fact managers with no on the ground experience make these decisions). 4) Resources in game development are stretched very thin. 5) Little to no ongoing investment in development tools or environment. 6) Game designers shoot from the hip with no regard to schedules. 7) Working weekends to make up for management's shortfalls gets old.
