Pros

This school has great sense of community, classes are challenging, professors are very well educated and up to date with emerging technologies (for the majority). Engineering here is wonderful, companies come to Virginia Tech seeking to hire both interns and full time positions. Keep a 3.0 gpa and you will not have a hard time finding professional opportunities as an engineer.

Cons

Within the ECE department there should have been more emphasis on PCB design, and soldering. This was not covered in any required curriculum. There are senior level classes where this experience can be obtained. Electronic Circuit Design 2 and power electronics lab.
