Pros

Ms. Bumgardner was a really, really smart and nice person. The office staff really did try to take care of the officers.

Cons

The people that came in to manage later weren't very good. They lost a TON of contracts. Almost no armed, and none that paid anything. Some of the contract clients weren't very nice to the guard staff - at all. If you are on the random, armed, and drivers' lists at the same time, expect to get pee tested A LOT.

Pros

Minimal contact with actual employer. A great client makes for a great working experience. Huntsville Utilities in my case, whose employees made a full time job an excellent experience.

Cons

Minimal contact which makes for bogus performance evaluations. In 3 years I never missed a single day. Always professional, always smiling, ever attentive. Built excellent rapport with client and was told I left enormous shoes for the next guard to fill. Never caused problems, never asked for anything special. Went above and beyond the call of duty a number of times and would at any time for the client. Always accepted additional shifts at other Vinson sites beyond my regular 40 when asked. However my yearly evaluations were always at about 3/5 with the reason being lack of creativity in relation to solving problems, or some nonsense to that effect. On more than one occasion I massaged and elevated an employee's leg for an hour while waiting for an ambulance. I believe the lackluster review was only justification for not having to give my a raise, ever. So for 3 years of full time devotion with perfect attendance and abundant adoration from multiple employees of the client, I was paid no more than $8/hr or ever once commended by my ACTUAL employer. Good thing virtue is its own reward.
