Pros

Competitive salary convinced me to join, but you would be remiss for ignoring the Cons.

Cons

My experience at Vertiv was a nightmare from day one. Here's why: Chaotic Environment: The project I joined was already 6 months behind schedule, and key leadership was leaving. The Delaware facility felt like a ghost town, with empty cubicles reflecting a massive brain drain. Deceptive Onboarding: My boss misled me about transferable skills, gave me just one week to learn new systems, and provided no formal training. I was micromanaged and criticized for needing time to focus. Broken Processes: Their ECN system was absurdly bloated, requiring 20–60 approvals per change. Backlogs were constant, yet my boss blamed me for delays caused by their inefficient process. Simple tasks took months instead of days. IT Failures: A disastrous CAD/ECN migration broke thousands of file links, leaving critical parts inaccessible. IT refused to fix the issues, which crippled productivity. I quit after three months in late 2018 to save my career. This company’s mismanagement and dysfunction were unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Avoid at all costs.

Pros

Ability to position your ideas to leadership and have your voice heard.

Cons

The industry is growing at a torrid pace and urgency is key - this means that customer expectations for responses are immediate and with a large company, sometimes it can take a while to get the correct answer.

Pros

The people on my team and the teams we worked with are talented, smart, and collaborative. Probably the best team I’ve ever worked on, and both of the managers I had were wonderful! Generous benefits. Nice environment.

Cons

Upper management, VP and C-suite level treat employees, especially IT infrastructure and support employees, like lower-class citizens. The demand to do more, faster, and better is constant, and everyone is burnt out and demoralized. It keeps getting worse. There are more and more projects getting piled on IT every day, but they don’t hire the people who are needed. You feel overwhelmed constantly and there is always a new urgent thing. It’s very draining.
