Pros

I had a great experience at Vertek as it relates to Skills. I learned a lot about recruiting and time management from working here. They also expose their staff to sales and give them the opportunity to gain new skills. OTHER PROS - Flexibility - Great pay - CEO has worked in the industry for ages and knows it very well

Cons

The best way I could say this is hire seasoned professionals. That means hiring people who have had good management experience and have a track record of being effective managers. Another good start would simply be to hire individuals who aren't bullies, people who treat people with respect, and people who listen. There is no reason why an AE should be talking negatively behind their recruiters back, and especially NOT TO CLIENTS (clients actually mentioned this AE talking badly about their recruiters while on luch meetings). AE's also shouldnt be talking badly about other recruiters to other recruiters (this happened A LOT). Professionalism means having patients, seeking to help your employees grow, and providing them with the right tools to succeed. I watched various people get bullied while at work. From petty emails being sent, to using FOUL language to degrade recruiters, to recruiters getting yelled at in the sales floor for small fixable mistakes. I think overall, it needs to be acknowledged that this stuff indeed happens at Vertek and employees experiences should be validated. CEO and COO are great, hardworking people so I hope moving forward you guys can bring on strong AE's with a good track record

Pros

Supportive environment Management willing to foster learning and growth Competitive commission structure Boutique Firm - small enough to feel a part of a cohesive team, not a number in a corporation

Cons

Nothing to share at the moment. My time at Vertek will always be looked at in a positive-light. I would not be where I am in my career today if it wasn't for the willingness to teach me a new skillset and help me foster it into a career.

Pros

Great initial phone training. Friendly long term recruiters do a great job of training new recruiters to the best of their abilities.

Cons

THEY READ EMPLOYEE EMAILS ALMOST DAILY. So just know they are watching everything you send. Forced long hours, with incredibly annoying micro-managers in the form of industry has-beens clinging to the way staffing was done in 1998. Terrible commission structure compared to industry standards (I have recruited in multiple offices and have seen the difference first hand between an office that wants you to make money vs. one that wants you to make THEM money). Vertek hires green recruiters, promises the moon, provides no technical training, and then is quick to release those that don't quickly catch on. Their sales strategy is dated and their cold calling strategy from a sales perspective is laughable. This is apparent by taking a look at their inability to sustain clients long-term. They are quickly being left behind by companies that have been in their market for half as long as them.
