It's been a roller coaster ride ever since the company announced a 'merger' with another small digital agency, both of which needed each other to survive. Their CTO was also suddenly terminated last month
The tech solutions that were produced are mediocre and does not have well thought out vision & planning baked into it. I still wondered how long they can ride off the "Hertz partnership" any longer, and the public sector clients that the newer agency brought with them are not visionary, at snails pace and a slog to produce fruitful work with.
A few years ago, product management as a function was suddenly dismantled and then brought back on again over a year ago, with a short slide deck on what they are envisioning from that point on. Almost none of the earlier PMs have remained. Majority of employees are hired within the past year, leading to this disjointed frankenstein culture of awkward Monday morning breakout sessions thrown in with average benefits of few hundred dollars in learning budgets and several Fridays off for summer long weekends. It is a nice gesture for teams that are constantly on the verge of a burnout due to lack of support & mentoring. A quick LinkedIn search will show mass exodus of Versett & Domain7 employees over the past 4 month, most without a next job lined up.
Several members in the leadership team was highlighted already in other reviews, the level of gaslighting in project failures, badmouth/gossiping many others for their personality traits, and scapegoating fellow team members to be fired still happens in the background. They've desperately hired many developers who had bad work ethics (not showing up to meetings) and not performing at the level that at any other company, would be a justifiable reason to be let go.
A few influential members call the shots, despite not being at a people leadership level and when one says a culture is toxic - all the above are probably what this has come down to.
