Pros

I really liked my coworkers.

Cons

I was laid off at the very start of the pandemic with absolutely no warning. I believe there were several of us. Our insurance was taken away the day that we were informed we were let go. During a pandemic. Additionally, I was not repaid for all of the PTO that I had earned and intentionally saved up for a future trip. I had even put in some hours on Christmas day, to make up for the time I had to take off that week for my grandfather's funeral, since there was no bereavement leave. I also did not take a full week off after I got married. The office manager jokingly asked why I was in the office the Monday after my wedding. I just laughed, but I should have brought to his attention the abysmal time off policy. I understand this is typical for companies in the US, but just don't be fooled about companies like this who say they care about their employees. It is not a family. It is a purely transactional relationship. Don't expect anything more. My experience was incredibly frustrating.

Pros

Great people, meaningful projects, strong growth opportunities, collaborative culture, and the ability to make an impact in a fast-growing company. Rapid growth creates a dynamic environment where processes and roles continue to evolve, offering opportunities to lead change, build new capabilities, and grow professionally.

Cons

Fast pace keeps you on your toes but it’s fun.

Pros

I liked the people I worked with.

Cons

My experience may not reflect everyone's, but I found leadership support to be lacking following the acquisition of my company. While there were many talented and supportive coworkers, I often felt there was little managerial guidance, advocacy, or accountability. Responsibilities were frequently pushed down without the corresponding support needed to be successful, and employees were often left to navigate challenges on their own. As the organization continued acquiring new companies, it felt as though employees from acquired organizations became an afterthought once integration efforts were complete. Senior leadership appeared heavily focused on growth and private equity objectives, while employee development, communication, and engagement received less attention. The lack of consistent leadership and support negatively impacted my career growth, confidence, and overall job satisfaction. Leaving was ultimately the right decision for me, and based on my experience, I would not recommend the organization.

We sincerely appreciate your feedback and the comment that it might not be everyone's experience. We have some of the lowest turnover in the industry and we get positive feedback from our employees regularly. Even so, we realize there will always be opportunities for improvement. I would encourage you to reach out to me or your HR partner directly so we can understand the impacts to you and gather broader suggestions. Even though you chose to leave, we still care about your experience and learning from it. Thank you, April Kozubal, CHRO
