Pros

Strong leadership with an exciting product that keeps getting better every week. This is a really good team and solid culture. The company does a lot to recognize its employees and be transparent. It's still early days, but you can feel the momentum building steadily. I think Valtix is very well positioned for a bright future as the leader in multi-cloud security.

Cons

The cons are not specific to Valtix, but are common to companies at the Series A stage. You must be prepared to work hard, work long days, wear multiple hats, and be ready to conquer any challenge. It is a grind. But, if you're going to grind it out, best to be in a the trenches with great people who you like and respect. Valtix has that.

Pros

Working on the problems that are critical. Attackers are disrupting core technology infrastructure and critical applications. Valtix is helping customers protect their public cloud (IaaS, PaaS in AWS, Azure, GCP) applications within minutes, rather than weeks or months. The service is focussed on network security today and has potential to expand into new areas. Customers are now trusting us to protect their critical assets and Gartner recognized us as a Cool Vendor for 2021. Good validation! Open non-political culture, no unnecessary hierarchies, new ideas from any source are welcomed. Engineering team with great depth. Willingness to be honest on the things that are working well and what's not working well. Executive team continuously finding ways to help the employees find balance in the COVID world: frequent town halls, monthly mental health day, non-video Zoom Fridays... all help.

Cons

Typical things that happen in a startup: refining product-market fit brings changes in product direction and company strategy: usual back-n-forth to balance speed of execution and not creating too much technical debt. A startup requires a serious amount of give from everyone and it takes a certain type of individual to persevere through the ups and downs, and willingness to take on new tasks that one has never dealt with before.
