Pros
Big Campus, Good Gymnasium, Sufficient Parking in their premises
Cons
Insecure team . They do not welcome new employees as they are not willing share the company's benefits. Hostile work culture. Groupism and filthy politics. They corner the individual and treat him like an untouchable if the person doesn't dance to their unethical and disrespectful tune. Narcissism is at the heart of the manager, HR, Architect in their I/S department. They expect the person to be fully functional with oil and gas domain knowledge since day one and they do not provide any knowledge transfer, helping hand and mentorship so that a new employee can settle in. As soon as the new employee joins in, they start judging him from head to toe and then if they don't like the person, their entire energy is focussed on how to get rid of the employee and the whole system designs and work towards the exit of that employee. When I joined, the manager welcomed me in the new employee onboarding session and in the lunch he told me "This position got created as we had to let the previous employee go. We have some objectives and if we don't achieve those objectives then we need to let the person go". I sincerely advise all budding techies who are aspiring to make a career and fulfill your dreams at Valero to be extremely careful and alert to the team that you are joining into.
