Pros

Flexible hours and remote work were a plus and allowed me to stay engaged with homeowners throughout the sales process. My manager was knowledgeable, approachable, and available when I needed assistance.

Cons

There was a fifth round of layoffs where over 800 employees were let go across all levels of the company. The decision didn't seem to have a long-term agenda in mind, as crucial managers and teams were impacted, leaving major markets without sales executives or onboarding coordinators to handle bringing on new homeowners. The company is evidently struggling from both a performance and financial standpoint, and this last round of layoffs highlights a complete disconnect between the top decision-makers and the day-to-day operations of the company in terms of bringing in new business and driving revenue. In March, the company restructured the sales commission plan, making it harder to retain the previously paid-out amounts for homes going "live". Sales executives were now required to have a minimum of four homes go live per month to earn the same amount as what was previously advertised when I signed on for this position. This increased the dependency on cross-functional collaboration with other teams, which was severely lacking due to the absence of efficient workflows. As someone who consistently exceeded monthly quotas, I was impacted by the last round of layoffs. While job security is uncertain in today's corporate landscape, it's especially true for Vacasa. Over 800 employees, representing 13% of the workforce, were laid off to appease stakeholders and hopefully save the company $50-60 million by the end of the year. The company is in dire straits, and leadership's disconnect has led them to focus only on the short-term, neglecting the long-term success of the company and its employees.

People at that place are awesome!

I was, unfortunately, part of the cuts! HR could have used a little more authority.
