Pros
Given the recent turmoil everywhere for the Covid 19 outbreak, Urban Splash have been very proactive and helpful to their staff. Homeworking was made possible for pretty much all office based staff very quickly with the IT and People function rallying round to get things in place. This is pretty typical of Splash - they put the happiness and well being of people first and it means people are far more willing to go the extra mile. In normal day to day running there are lots of great initiatives, like free fruit (and Diet Coke!) free exercise classes and city centre(ish) parking. Great Christmas parties and free pizza during monthly staff meetings. Senior team is approachable and ready to listen, and the new People function (brought about by need as the business grows) are great points of contact. Everyone in Splash is committed to finding the best and most efficient ways of doing things - which means we don't rest on our laurels and are often able to be more agile and effective than competitors. Refreshingly, Splash are happy to consult with experts and use their services rather than pile the workload onto staff. This means we can focus on our actual day to day roles.
Cons
There is a lot of work on which means everyone is super busy - no bad thing but just means a lot of careful organisation and prioritisation is needed to avoid burnout. As we recruit more this should hopefully ease off. As the organisation is growing so rapidly, there have been some teething problems with comms, however there does seem to be an understanding of this and initiatives being put in place to address it.
