Pros

Upward Engine has a strong team culture, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals makes it a great environment for learning and growth. Many team members are generous with their time and knowledge, which creates an informal mentorship atmosphere that’s really beneficial, especially early in your career. The company also offers a solid range of benefits—including health coverage, weekly wellness perks like massages and chiropractic care—which is a unique and appreciated part of the overall package.

Cons

Compensation can make it difficult for the company to retain top talent long-term. While the experience and team environment are valuable, competitive pay is an area with room for improvement.

Pros

- Doesn't feel like a corporate nightmare - We're respected/paid pretty well and have access to a lot of very generous commission opportunities - Doesn't feel predatory at all. We are encouraged to actually help clients and not just push upsells. Turns out when you help clients, they want to buy more eventually anyway. - Lots of fun activities, I know everyone just wants "money," but most of the time, these events have opportunities to make a couple of extra bucks - They have done a really good job at hiring good people to be around and learn from - Management listens. (crazy, I know) - The break room is always stocked, and the office is always clean - Resources are abundant*

Cons

- I would say sometimes teams feel very separate, so collaboration feels a little off sometimes - The break room is a little small for more than 3-4 people. - Resources are abundant, BUT there isn't a clear distinction of who and what we can use at FIRST, but after some time, that clears up.

Pros

The people are genuinely amazing. Some great personalities, fun to be around. Work life balance is great, managers are trusting of employees and there was very little micromanagement (unfortunately this did start to change towards the end of my time here, but nothing too bad). Definitely made some real friends. Fun activities pretty frequently if you’re into that sort of thing

Cons

Very little room for growth, both positional and skill-wise. As a digital marketing strategist, it felt like there weren’t many opportunities for strategizing. My position was more of a project management role. This was my biggest complaint throughout my time here, and while it was heard by management not much action was taken. The feedback I usually received was to take learning into my own hands and be proactive. This was my main method for growth in my limited available time, but with a full book of business the tasks stack up quickly and time is a precious commodity. Most days I found myself just doing what I could to stay afloat, and that often left me too drained to be proactive for my clients. Unfortunately I think this is a symptom of the processes and systems in place here. It works fine for some people, but it wasn’t a great fit for my goals and strengths. If you’re good at PM/organization you’ll probably be just fine
