Pros
Great amount of PTO to start, ability to telecommute, a lot of smart and driven employees (which are abused and overworked).
Cons
-Health benefits suck! I worked for the largest healthcare provider in the country, and I opt out because my family gets better coverage through my spouses employer. That is ridiculous! -Pay is on the low side for comparable positions at competitors, although UHC will debate that. -2017 was a record year in terms of profits, and what do they do? Let's have a 20% workforce reduction to reward our employees for their hard work. Many very capable people were let go with no notice, and the others were scared to death for their jobs daily. Great corporate culture Mr. Rich Whiteguy. -This is the biggest boys club I have ever seen. Women should forget to attempt to get above a level 30, and guys that don't drink the Kool Aid and kiss but should forget about it too. Corporate drones in suits get rewarded and promoted, all others are used and abused until they quit or get laid off. -UHC boasts this focus on corporate culture and employee engagement, but it is all just fluff. VP's and above are making sick money on stock options and bonus' while the employees that make those bonus' possible are treated quite poorly. -The company fosters an environment of fear. Fear of being laid off, fear of being written up, fear of retaliation. This is really the worst environment I have ever worked in. They really need a complete leadership overhaul, and not just in a mission statement or mass email, but in real life.
