Cons
Named the overall worst company to work for on 2019 by Money Inc . No other railroad made the top 20. The UP has over time created a toxic work environment and an "Us against them" mentality. They hire, train and layoff employees keeping them as a reserve in case they are needed. You will be laid off for long periods until you have several years seniority. Management is more concerned with shareholder returns than employee safety.
