Pros

I actually left UniFirst after a little less than 2 years. Most of the reps on the team I started with had left and I felt it was my turn. The grass was not greener. Was welcomed back and have been loving it ever since. Potential to make six figures if you work hard and take advantage of commission multipliers. Very nice Presidents Club trip for top performers. Almost total and complete freedom to dictate your schedule (we are required to be in the office 1.5 days a week). One of the fastest growing locations within the company. Base salary, unlimited commissions, laptop, gas and cellphone allowance. Good training program and support from management. Opportunity for base salary pay raises and promotions your first year (major promotions into management typically require relocation). Not for everyone, but I truly love the job and the people I work with and for. CEO is as down to earth and humble as you can get. Regional Sales Manager is hands-on, energetic and helpful. Branch Manager is sales friendly (former U1st Sales Rep and Sales Manager) and a great motivator and mentor. Sales Manager is a former P-Club rep who knows the job. 2 Sales Reps, Sales Manager and Branch Manager all qualified for P-Club in 2017. Great sales culture!

Cons

It can be a grind. To make it to P-Club, you’ll put in some very early mornings and some very late nights on a very frequent basis. Lots of prospecting via cold calling, phone calls and emails. If you can’t handle rejection and cold calls, this is not the job for you. Despite the high income potential and flexibility to dictate your schedule, turnover on the sales team has been high (service team has very low turnover). Selling products and services that most businesses place a low priority on can be tough, but it can be done. Many people leave too soon.

Thank you for your review and welcome back to the team! We often see UniFirst “family members” come back after exploring other opportunities and they say exactly the same thing. We guess that drinking the “green koolaid” has made our grass a little greener than others. ; ) We are so happy to hear how supportive your team is in Louisville, KY. Sending that many people to Presidents Club is a huge achievement and you should all be very proud. We agree that this role isn’t for everybody, but those that put in the time and effort can really go far. And don’t worry we are already working on the MS Dynamics Mobile release!

Pros

People here are great, management listens with patience and understanding. Great coworkers, supportive leadership, steady work schedule, good training for new employees, and opportunities for growth and skill development.

Cons

Work life balance can vary depending on workload and staffing levels. Some processes can feel repetitive, and advancement opportunities may depend on location and department.

Pros

They are better than the competition in a lot of ways. You get a $50.00 voucher for Thanksgiving groceries every year. Very little micromanagement . You get a lot of free time to improve your skills. If you get a sales manager who cares they will help you be the best . Sometimes they do a great job and customers are very happy. Great group meetings that really fire people up. Branch manager is amazing . Regional sales director is amazing.

Cons

You'll be embarrassed when every other account you sell has an issue on the first day of installation. What they teach you in training sounds amazing, but often what your customers get is comedically bad. Like it was scripted for a movie about a company that is so bad that its funny how unbelievable it is . When you sell an account , you'll sometimes be given an update as to when it will be installed. But most of the time you are left in the dark, and so is your customer. Management emphasizes your numbers over and over but doesn't work to make you better . Management belittles sales reps in front of others. Big emphasis on selling , but when you have a question that you need to move a sale along, they tell you to wait and don't get back to you. Processes change and no one tells you, causing you to have to redo work. You will work have to work at least 12 hours every day if you want to be successful.
