Pros

I was proud of our community and product, had the opportunity to grow my skill set, was allowed the freedom to make decisions about how I managed my time and work, and given the responsibility of putting together the pieces of an evolving company. Lots of growth, lots of fun, fond memories

Cons

Not all employees had the same experience that I had…but whenever I catch up with an ex-colleague they are unanimous in classifying their employment and experience as a net-positive.

Pros

U30X is a community of open minded, positive people who love the outdoors, travel, adventure, and personal development. I love that I get to work with and meet alumni who I have a ton in common with. U30X is super flexible to work with in terms of being respectful of your evenings and weekends, being encouraging and allowing you an opportunity to grow with them, giving you time off when you need it, being supportive for personal struggles, and just generally being an amazing work environment.

Cons

As U30X continues to grow significantly, roles are constantly changing and evolving. Since many of us work remotely and travel around, it's hard to make sure nothing slips through the cracks, priorities are aligned, and your intentions come through online communication (versus in person).

Pros

The people at this company are truly amazing. The experiences offered at a travel company are second to none. I truly enjoyed working at U30X and with the people.

Cons

Lack of support. Mediocre Communication. Clearly defined goals and objectives.

Thanks for your honest review of your time as Custom Experiences Manager. While I don't disagree with these comments, it should be noted to any potential employee that this position was an entrepreneurial experiment, testing a separate business model, not working on our core business, Under30Experiences. In regard to objectives, unfortunately, we only got halfway to our revenue goal even after extending the deadline, and decided it was best to focus on our core business, rather than continue to lose money in a new business. As a company, we aren't afraid to take risks and fail, and we always try to be as clear as possible about that with anyone leading a new business unit that there will be a lot of autonomy involved in the job. Custom Experiences was also a virtual business unit, and we've made a lot of strides improving our communication for our remote staff. We also would like any applicants to know that we strongly prefer when team members are available to move to Austin and can be part of our community every day. Direct feedback is something we highly value at Under30Experiences, and we'll continue to do our very best to improve. Kind regards and much success in your future. -Matt
