Valuable Internship - Anonymous employee Unchained At Last Employee Review

Working for Unchained At Last was a pleasure for me. It was a calm, friendly and welcoming environment with a clear mission. It was a positive experience where I had the opportunity to learn directly from guidance provided by the Director (knowledge I really couldn’t have gained any other way) about why the work being done at Unchained At Last is so important to our world. For each of the projects I was involved with, I was given freedom to put my skills to use in creative ways. I always felt there was a nice balance of freedom coupled with helpful feedback and insight, as well as clear direction on what was expected of me. I’d be more than happy working again with Unchained At Last in the future.

The commute from Queens to Unchained At Last was lengthy for me. But honestly, that can’t be viewed as a poor reflection of Unchained At Last–it was more of a logistical problem for me personally, from living on the outskirts.

You do really impactful and meaningful work, get to be creative, and really hone your communication and social media skills. I learned so much and had a really good experience getting to know my colleagues, learning about this social issue, and using my creativity to figure out ways to communicate better to the public. I feel that my perspective was really expanded and my ability to create and communicate was really sharpened at this job and I had a great time doing it.

Communication from management was at times unclear, some resistance to moving the company forward social media and tech-wise by expanding to new platforms and updating current ones. There were a few times that management was unprofessional. It was common to be overworked.
