Pros

- The benefits were very good, particularly when it came to health and dental insurance. - The plant had a culture that put safety before all else. All incidents were reported, investigated, and corrected to the best of the ability of those in charge. - The plant is unionized, but the relationship between union and non-union employees was not particularly strained. - There are people of many different cultures and nationalities working at the plant, all of whom are worth getting to know.

Cons

- Plant leadership was untrustworthy and sometimes underhanded. Some of my colleagues were snubbed on raises and promotions they were led to believe they would get. Leadership could not be counted on to tell the truth about what was going on plant- or business-wide despite clear steps to change direction. - Human resources could be unreliable and/or unhelpful at times. - There are people of many different cultures and nationalities working at the plant, which can lead to cultural and language barriers and communication issues.

Pros

The schedule is great 36 hours 1 week and 48 the next

Cons

The company is constantly nit picking the salary staff since we aren't under the union. They brought us in with the promise of overtime pay after 40 hours but now say we have to give them an extra 5 hours each week to qualify for overtime. They claim we have unpaid lunch even though many of us never take a lunch or have to eat while we work. There is a ton of turn over and our direct leadership has never worked in quality and has no knowledge of quality management principles. When those of us who actually do the work make suggestions or requests they bend over backwards to find a reason not to listen to us even though they haven't been on the floor in god knows how long. And our employees make as much as the supervisors do so there is zero incentive to be a supervisor much less a good supervisor.
